Newspaper is indeed a powerful tool for language art skill. I let my Year 5 pupils exercised their imagination in craftwork production yesterday; it was very
successful, even the naughtiest boys were engrossed.
It can be a fun post activity for “Something
Weird Happened” short story, but make sure the pupils understand the theme of
imagination that broadly covers the story.
Suggestion: Instead of asking them
to create free theme craftwork products, asks them to create something that can
be found in the story such as ice-cream, book, or just let the pupils decorate themselves as a famous celebrity using the newspaper. I'm positive that they will be thrilled to do it.
